Coney Island is a world apart, a world unto itself, and a part of every Brooklyn native’s psyche. Sigmund Freud once posited that Coney Island was America. And he wasn’t wrong - it’s a living, breathing paradox. A beautiful dreamscape on the ocean steps from urban sprawl. Ain’t that America - the sublime and the ridiculous. This Brooklyn girl’s summer, now that I’ve moved west? I went hiking. In Zion National Park. In Utah. And loved every minute. Sometimes summer dreams are the ones we didn’t know we had! Go figure. And as Mae West once said (or didn’t), come up and see me sometime. Love to the fam from mine. xoxo
